S-2178: Repeals the section7 of the “Work First New Jersey Act,” which prohibits a household from gaining additional cash assistance benefits as a result of the birth of a child. Passed both houses of the legislature, awaiting action by governor.
S-864: Prohibits the provision or sale of single-use plastic carryout bags, single-use paper carryout bags, and polystyrene foam food serviceproducts, and limit the provision of single-use plastic straws. Passed both houses of the legislature, awaiting action by governor.
S-2362: FY 2020 supplemental Grants-in-Aid appropriation of $10,000,000 to the Department of Community Affairs (DCA) to the NJSHARES- S.M.A.R.T. Program to fund financial assistance grants to New Jersey residents who suffered financial losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Passed both houses of the legislature, awaiting action by governor.
A-1003: Requires the Department of Human Services, in consultation with the Secretary of Higher Education, to develop a plan to increase outreach efforts to students enrolled in institutions of higher education or post-secondary education in the State concerning the New Jersey Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (NJ SNAP). September 24, passed Assembly, Awaiting committee assignment in Senate.
