First Citizens’ Federal Credit Union and New Bedford’s Discovery Language Academy (DLA) have recently partnered up to promote financial literacy among children by offering some valuable lessons and resources to dozens of youngsters enrolled in the school’s summer program.

Using monopoly money and make-believe paychecks awarded to students in exchange for chores they perform around the school, DLA and credit union officials are equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of personal finance and make sound financial decisions as they progress through life.
