PA Bill Tacks Financial Literacy Course to Graduation Requirements

Educating high school students about the responsibility that goes with auto loans, credit cards and credit scores would become a high school graduation requirement under legislation that passed the state Senate on Tuesday (5/9).

This proposed high school graduation requirement would apply to public and nonpublic students, starting in 2026-27. It also would require higher education institutions to incorporate information about credit card debt and money management as part of their orientation programming, starting in 2024-25.
