As House Delays Fight on Funding, Two Members Push for Better Financial Education

Reps. Wiley Nickel, D-N.C., and David Valadao, R-Calif., introducedthe Promoting Financial Literacy in Secondary Schools Act and the Young Americans Financial Literacy Act in April of this year in order to make a bipartisan push to create federal guidelines – through the Treasury Department – for financial literacy education in high school and grant programs to provide schools and districts the means to put those guidelines into practice.
