Legislative Update
The final voting sessions of the Legislative session are set to take place in both Houses on January 10th.
The Reorganization State of the State Address is set to take place on January 11th .
Governor Murphy will give his State of the State address virtually this year due to rising COVID-19 cases, according to NJ.com; he gave the address virtually last year as well. The Governor’s address will be streamed online and via social media on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 5:00 pm. The speech will be streamed on the Governor’s official Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube pages, as well as via LiveU Matrix. It will also be broadcasted by News12 New Jersey and NJ Spotlight News on NJ PBS.
Legislation of Interest:
S-969: Establishes loan redemption program for teachers in certain fields to redeem loan amounts received under New Jersey College Loans to Assist State Students Loan Program through employment in certain low performing schools. Having passed the Senate on December 20 by a 39 – 0 vote, S-969 was scheduled for approval by the Assembly on January 10 before being sent to Gov. Murphy for his consideration.
